Plateau state Order Tinubu to appoint indigenous as minister

Nigerian president Bola Tinubu A group, Plateau Youth and Community Volunteers has called on President Bola Tinubu to appoint an Indigenous Plateau person into his cabinet, to fill in the state’s vacant ministerial slot. Nanven Mamdam , the Executive Director of the organisation, made the call in a statement on Wednesday in Jos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that since the resignation of  Senator Simon Lalon g as Minister of Labour and Productivity to join the Senate, the state’s ministerial slot has not been filled. The Court of Appeal had in December 2023 declared Lalong the winner of the senate seat for Plateau South Senatorial District. Mamdam described the absence of Plateau’s representative in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as unfair, adding that the constitution provides for each state to be represented in the FEC.
